Lenten Sunday School
Central to the Christian faith is a man who denies all our pre-conceived notions about what God should look like. Joining his movement will mean coming to terms with the real Jesus, the rebel Jesus. Jesus didn't come to start a religion. The rebel Jesus came with a renegade gospel to start a revolution. You and I are invited to be a part. In Renegade Gospel, pastor and author Mike Slaughter presents Jesus and his challenging message to inspire us during Lent, Easter and through the year.
Refresh your spiritual discipline during this Lenten season. Walk more closely with God. Discover Jesus all over again.
Join facilitator Eddie Ingram in Carptenter Hall during the 9:45 am Sunday School hour beginning February 22.
Books available at cokesbury.com or amazon.com.
How does a pancake party with plenty of food and festive pancake races help us prepare for a meaningful Lenten Journey? Come, eat, play and find out on Tuesday, February 17 at 6:00 pm. Prepare to live differently during the season of Lent.
The season of Lent begins... Ash Wednesday is a time to take time for new beginnings; a time of turning back to God. With a special service of worship, ashes are placed on our foreheads as a sign of repentance and spiritual renewal, confession and absolution. We remember Christ crucified and forgiveness of sin. Enter into Lent with intentionality on Wednesday, February 18 at 6:30 following our 5:30 soup meal.
Volunteer Administrative Assistance
The volunteer administrative assistance program has been in place since April 2014 and has been well received at our church. This program is run during the business week from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday through Thursday. The volunteers work on a roational basis and are stationed at the desk located at the entrance to the Administrative Building. Volunteers greet folks, answer phone calls, and occasionally provide assistance to Janice and other staff with smal jobs. We could use some additional volunteers at this time. If you are interested in helping please call Bill McLean at 704-825-3969.
