Our church is engaged in a variety of ministries for people of all ages. Whether it be the Feeding the Children ministry, or the Belmont Community Garden. First United Methodist Church of Belmont encourages all members of the church to go out and support our community, and others. The list below describes the ministries in which our church members are currently involved:

Feeding the Children "We provide hot lunches for public school children whose parents request the and deliver the meals to their homes during the Christmas and Easter holidays."

Belmont Community Garden "A cooperative ministry with other faith communities providing fresh vegetables for local agencies who help the poor and those in crisis."

Belmont Community Organization (BCO) "A local crisis assistance ministry in the town of Belmont."

Showing Our Caring and Kindness in Springwood (S.O.C.K.S) "A local crisis assistance ministry  in the community of Springwood."

North Belmont Elementary School "We partner with this school in providing support for teachers, as  well as mentors and tutors for students."

Sisters of Mercy “We support various ministries that were initiated by the Sisters of Mercy of Belmont, including Holy Angels, House of Mercy and Katherine’s House.”

Habitat for Humanity “In cooperation with other Methodist Churches, we have recently completed a house in a neighborhood in Dallas, NC.” 

Interfaith Hospitality Network “In cooperation with other local faith communities, we provide temporary shelter for a small number of homeless families four weeks each year.”

Church World Service- CROP Walk “We provide annual support for this ministry to address hunger needs in the community and the world.”

Missionary Support We provide prayerful and annual financial support for  Vickie Sigmon is a United Methodist Church and Community Worker, as she leads a Christian community in an underserved, urban neighborhood in Winston-Salem.”

Youth Mission Teams “We send teams each summer to work in the Middle School Mission Team through the WNC Annual Conference, as well as  Carolina Cross Connection.”

Building Teams “We sponsor individuals and groups who wish to go on short-term building teams in foreign countries, or in response to national disasters like hurricanes and floods.  After a terrific trip to Camp Hope in May of 2010, we are presently organizing a return trip to Mississippi in May of 2011 to help in the Katrina relief   on-going work.

Project AGAPE  "This mission is a partnership between United Methodists of North Carolina and the people of Armenia, particularly around the region of Berdzor.  After a string of disasters and upheavals - earthquake, war, and the dissolution of the Soviet Empire - many Armenians are doing their best just to survive.  To learn what we have
